Korg X2 - Workstation
Price : $~1600(New)
Released :1994 (?)
Description
Adam Levin (alevin@stevens-tech.edu) : This is my first professional keyboard/synth. I think it
is well worth the expense. The sounds are fantastic, esp.
the piano and pads. Good performance stuff in the combis
(combine up to 8 programs (patches) in different ways with
layering and splitting (velocity and keys)). The X3 is
cheaper and smaller (61 keys) with 2MB less memory and 2
outputs, but it doesn't have the additional piano patch that
makes the X2 worth it. All in all a solid, well built machine.
The LCD display is a little smaller than I'd like, though.
Sequencer Specifications
- No Notes (max) : 32000 (?)
- No Patterns : 99
- No Songs : 10
- Other Features : DSDD 3.5" disk drive (IBM format)
Lots of editing features (quantize,
event edit (step), use of patterns
instead of actual data, tempo changes
on a tempo track...
